A CHARTER

To foster respect for each other we have set a few basic rules as a Charter to introduce behavioural structure for this community. It is enforced by honour where we trust in each other to keep the rules without a warden. We must have character so consistent that others can safely bet on it without any guardianship. Trust is built by consistently sticking to the playbook. Let’s position ourselves to see and derive value in each other
  1. We care about, love and have mutual respect for each other and agree not to be enemies with each other. We must to build each other up in order to grow individually and as a unit.

  2. Only positive proposals are allowed. Suggestions must communicate how a solution can be delivered.
  3. If there is a flaw in a submission that needs to be flagged, it should be flagged with a proposed solution.

  4. Fully formed ideas should be submitted and not contemplations or philosophical debates.

  5. All views should be expressed from the perspective that Africa Loading has no political leanings or affiliations and will not be used as a political vehicle or tool.

  6. Offensive behaviour is forbidden and if harsh language is to be used it must in the context of its true meaning (nonsense, foolish, pointless, etc.) and not as a means to disparage another individual.

  7. All must operate from the place that no offence is intended towards us and in similar manner we must not operate with offensive intent.

  8. Please endeavour to respond to requests for input and do not deviate from the objectives of a request or the scope of a proposed approach.

  9. If you feel negative or have given up on the African development agenda, we believe that through demonstration of goals achieved we can win you over. Please follow our progress and continue reading our material but do not broadcast negativity or try to convert optimists on our group.

  10. Ask yourself if your submission is achieving helpfulness. If it is not, don’t submit it. The tone must be progressive only.

Let’s get on the same page with a few basic terms of reference, shall we.
