THE STAGES OF DELIVERY
- Step One: A Think Tank / Idea Hub.
- Step Two: Legal Personality and Governance Model.
- Step Three: Membership, Leadership and Funding Infrastructure launch.
- Step Four: Projects kick off.
Step 1
Africa Loading starts out as a Think Tank. This phase will socialise the ideas relying on like minds to share and provide input and challenge. This stage will need to quantify the number of Africans abroad that support the concept and think it should proceed. Without the support of a critical mass of such individuals, this project cannot launch. In this stage we will propose engagement models, governance models, spending models, agree the projects, and any other aspect of the operating framework. Articles will be shared to guide thinking towards the type progressive mindset we wish to cultivate – please read and share these extensively. We will leverage existing social media platforms to keep costs down.
Step 2
Important decisions will be made such as… What type of legal form will Africa Loading be created as? A foundation? A charity? A Non-Governmental Organisation? What is the best location to be head-quartered (registered) for best operationalization? Terms of reference, constitutional documents, legal representation & opinion, tax affairs, and all statutory considerations need to be concluded, communicated for consultation, and finalized at this stage.
Step 3
The key aspect of the 3rd stage is participation. How will members be recognised and how will they connect to and interact with, the community. The current intent is that the model will not be infrastructure heavy. We require a mechanism to make sure that information flow and updates on progress can be delivered to a portal where participants and interested parties can be reached. Will there be any incentives for members, what will these be and how will this work? The funding model will also have to be developed and this is not envisioned to be a proprietary solution. Existing 3rd party payment infrastructure is to be leveraged. The governing body must be set up and will be simple, free of unnecessary bureaucracy and unreasonable cost.
Step 4
The final stage, which will be a go-live, is the initiation of pilot projects. This ranges from community engagement, signing agreements, vendor selection, mobilisation, milestone reporting, accountability and much more. No aspect will be left to chance.
